Addressing the open session of the parliament here in Tehran on Sunday, Ghalibaf said the power of the resistance front has made the occupation regime resort to cowardly acts.
The Zionist regime knows the power of the resistance front and is aware that a crushing and harsh fate awaits the regime, he said.
The Iranian parliament speaker strongly condemned the regime’s recent desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its barbaric raids in the West Bank and attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, saying the occupation regime by violating all international laws has turned into a killing machine.
The city of Jerusalem al-Quds has been witnessing tension since the beginning of last week, following the Israeli police storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque at night and preventing worshipers from performing Itikaf.
The repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa led to tension and clashes throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to the firing of rockets from Lebanon, Gaza, and Syria.
Ghalibaf further referred to the upcoming International Quds Day and said the Muslim Ummah will show once again on this occasion that the cause of al-Quds is alive.
The International Quds Day is a legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who designated the day in solidarity with Palestinians.
Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, the International Quds Day has been held worldwide on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
This year, the International Quds Day falls on Friday, April 14.
