Khaled al-Rashidi, who is also a representative of the Arab country’s Islamic propagation ministry, said the books include copies of the Holy Quran as well as religious titles and books on Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), religious subjects and the culture and literature of Oman.
He told IQNA that there are also children’s books on display at the pavilion.
Al-Rashidi hailed the good reception of the Arabic books by Iranians and said they did not expect so many visitors to the pavilion.
Asked about publication of religious books in Oman, he said that the number of books with religious themes published in the country has grown in recent years and that the country’s Awqaf (endowment) ministry supports publication of such books.
The 34th edition of the book fair was launched at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (Congregational Prayers Site) last Wednesday and will run until May 20.
About 3,000 Iranian and foreign publishers are taking part in the book fair.
