Pope Francis, Head of Muslim World League Meet in Vatican

TEHRAN (IQNA) – On Saturday, Pope Francis met with Sheikh Mohammad Al-Issa, the Muslim World League's Secretary-General, at his office in Saint Martha House in the Vatican, the organization announced.

They discussed various issues related to common values and the alliance of civilizations, the organization said.

After the meeting, Alissa expressed his happiness with the honest, fraternal and profound dialogue with Pope Francis at his residence.

He said: "We talked about our shared values and building bridges between civilizations based on effective and sustainable initiatives. I appreciate Pope Francis's kind hospitality and noble sentiments."

Pope Francis resumed his regular schedule on Saturday and had several private meetings, after canceling his appointments on Friday due to a fever.
