BEIRUT (IQNA) – The secretary general of Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement met with Hezbollah chief Sayed Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon on Sunday.

Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad chiefs meet in Lebanon

Nasrallah and Ziyad al-Nakhalah exchanged views about the developments in the region, especially in Palestine and Lebanon, Al-Ahed News reported.

They also discussed the threats, challenges and opportunities facing the axis of resistance in the current condition.

Nakhalah’s deputy Muhammad al-Hindi was also present at today’s meeting.

Heading a delegation from the Islamic Jihad movement, Nakhalah had visited Lebanon to hold talks with Nasrallah back in March too.

Sunday’s meeting came against the backdrop of intensified Zionist attacks on Palestinians.

Israeli forces launch raids on various cities of the West Bank on an almost daily basis under the pretext of detaining what it calls “wanted” Palestinians. The raids usually lead to violent confrontations with residents.

Over the past months, Israel has ramped up attacks on Palestinian towns and cities throughout the occupied territories. As a result of these attacks, dozens of Palestinians have lost their lives and many others have been arrested.

More than 200 Palestinians have been killed this year in the occupied Palestinian territories and the besieged Gaza Strip. The majority of these fatalities have been recorded in the West Bank.
