US Capitol Hill Demonstration to Demand Permanent Gaza Ceasefire

WASHINGTON, DC (IQNA) – A demonstration is planned to be held on Capitol Hill in the US capital on Tuesday to call for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.   

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the United States’ largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, has invited community members to join the visual demonstration at 2 p.m. local time today.

CAIR and community partners plan to take part in a visual action intended to build on the demand for an immediate permanent ceasefire in the genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and urge members of congress to cosponsor House Resolution 786 Ceasefire Now and introduce it in the Senate. Activists plan to stand and hold letters spelling out the words “ceasefire now.”

Participants will meet at 1:30 p.m. at CAIR National Headquarters, 453 New Jersey Ave SE, Washington, D.C. 20003
