IQNA – The second day of Iran’s 40th International Holy Quran Competition saw 25 contestants from various countries showcase their skills in reciting and memorizing the holy book in Tehran on Saturday.

The day also featured the first day of the women’s competitions, as well as the second day 8th edition of the international Quran competition for the Muslim world school students, which is held alongside Iran's 40th International Quran Cmpetition.

Seven female and 10 male qaris and memorizers competed in the main categories of Quran recitation (for men) and Quran memorization and Tateel recitation (for men and women).

The prestigious competition, which began on Thursday, has attracted Quran enthusiasts from around the world, including Iranian officials and dignitaries.

More than 110 countries registered for the competition, but only 69 finalists from 40 countries made it to the final round after a rigorous screening process.

The competition will run until Tuesday, February 20, and the winners will be honored at the closing ceremony on Wednesday, February 21.

The annual event, organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, aims to promote the Quranic culture and values among Muslims and showcase the talents of Quran reciters and memorizers.
