Cleric Stresses Russian Muslims’ Support for Palestinian Cause
Speaking to IQNA, Sheikh Fawzi Sidou, the Mufti of Muslims in Russia’s Ural region, said Russian Muslims attach great importance to the issue of Palestine.
He said there is no Muslim in Russia who does not wish to support and help the Palestinian people achieve victory against the occupation regime.
If there is an opportunity for helping Palestine, the Russian Muslims will certainly grab that opportunity, he underlined.
“With the grace of God, the Palestinian nation will be victorious (against the Israeli regime) ultimately,” the Mufti stated.
He also noted that the stance of government of Russia is also supporting the people of Palestine.
Unlike in many other countries, there are no restrictions in Russia against supporting the issue of Palestine by imams, religious figures, orators or religious institutions and charity organizations, he added.
Sheikh Sidou said world Muslims need to do more to support Palestine based on the teachings of the Holy Quran.
God says in Verse 11 of Surah Ar’Raad, “Allah does not change what is in a nation unless they change what is in themselves,” he said, adding that world Muslims need a change in themselves to create a movement to change the current status of Palestine.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Russian cleric referred to Iran’s support for Palestine and said the Iranians’ stance on the issue of Palestine is one based on honor and dignity.
The Islamic Republic turned the issue of Palestine from an Arabic issue into an Islamic cause and that is why the Palestinian issue is important for all Muslims in the world, he went on to say.
Had it not been for Iran’s efforts, the resistance movement in the region would not be in the current prominent position today.
