Imam Reza Holy Shrine to Host Recitation of Arafah Supplication

IQNA – A ceremony for the recitation of the Arafah Supplication will be held in Mashhad this afternoon.

It will start at 3:40 PM at the Payambar Azam (PBUH) courtyard of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine, an official said. 

The ceremony will begin with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Ali Reza Rezaei, Hojat-ol-Islam Hossein Shariatinejad, the propagation deputy of the Astan Qud Razavi added

It will also include a speech by religious scholar Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Alizadeh, he noted.

The Supplication of Arafah will be recited by the renowned eulogist Mehdi Sorouri, he went on to say.

Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam, made the Arafah supplication one of the most famous in Shia annals, one year during the pilgrimage to Mecca on the Day of Arafah (the ninth of Dhul Hajjah).

It has been recited by pious Shias ever since.
