Ayatollah Reza Ramezani made the remark in an address to the third international congress on “Nahj al-Balagha: Path of Salvation”.
The theme of this year’s congress, which was held in Iran’s central city of Isfahan on Monday, was “Nahj al-Balagha and Honorable Life”.
Nahj al-Balagha is a collection of sermons, letters and sayings left as a memorial from the Imam Ali (AS). The book was compiled by Sayed Radhi over a thousand years ago.
Ayatollah Ramezani added that with Nahj al-Balagha, Muslims can present a scholarly, political and social source of reference to the world.
He cited a Christian scholar as saying that if Christians had the Nahj al-Balagha, they could be winners in ideological and political fields.

He also highlighted the sublime character of Imam Ali (AS) and noted that the Commander of the Faithful (AS) has been described as the father of the Ummah, Bab al-Hikma (gate of wisdom), Bab al-Ilm (gate of knowledge), and Bab al-Janna (gate of heaven).
He is a character about whom God says if all people gathered around the love of Ali (AS), He would not create hell, Ayatollah Ramezani stated.
Nahj al-Balagha is a manifestation of the words of such a sublime character, he noted.
He also cited Imam Musa Sadr as saying that in order to introduce Islam to the world, in addition to the verses of the Quran and historical texts, Muslims should act upon the teachings of Imam Ali (AS).
