Polling hours were extended three times on Friday, each extension lasting two hours beyond the 6:00 PM local time deadline, which is the constitutional limit for a 10-hour voting window.
The polls officially closed at midnight. Subsequently, the counting of votes took place at numerous polling stations throughout Iran.
