Megan Rimmer, 36, who witnessed the attack, described the horrifying incident: “They were both going through the same gate and the white guy just turned around and lunged at him with a knife. He put his hand out and the knife went into his hand.”
Rimmer, who was with her daughters at the time, saw the man, believed to be Muslim, standing with blood pouring from his hand. “It looked really bad. There was blood everywhere,” she said, Metro reported on Friday.
After ensuring her children’s safety, she helped the injured man by wrapping his hand with her keffiyeh and advising him to apply pressure to the wound.

Muslim community groups have urged the police to ramp up security and patrols outside mosques as far-right groups have planned at least 19 rallies across England in the coming days.
Violent riots have already taken place in Southport, Manchester, and London, as well as other cities and towns, after the girls were stabbed at a children’s holiday club on Monday.
The teenager charged with murder after the stabbing has been named as Axel Rudakubana. Although the defendant is 17, which typically means he would be granted anonymity, the court judge made his name public due to fake news spread by far-right groups that he was Muslim and because he is set to turn 18 in six days.
Azhar Qayum, CEO of the UK-based NGO Muslim Engagement and Development (MEND), expressed deep concern: “Shops and houses have been attacked, and Muslims across the country are wondering if it will be their turn next. This situation arose through long-term demonization of Islam and Muslims.” He emphasized the need for more substantial actions to ensure safety, according to The New Arab.

Zara Mohammed, MCB’s secretary-general, highlighted the widespread anxiety: “There is a palpable amount of anxiety and fear over the coming weekend. I’m also very anxious from the scenes we saw in Southport and even near Downing Street with far-right thugs and mobs.”
