Algerian Woman Who Memorized Quran at 75 Dies

IQNA – An Algerian woman who learned the Holy Quran by heart at the age of 75 died of cancer.

Rabi’ah Faraq was diagnosed with cancer in her 70s but managed to memorize the Quran while being treated at a Spanish hospital.

She learned 15 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Book while in hospital, according to Al-Shuruq website.

During this time, despite her age, she also managed to complete her university studies and obtain a BA.

She had wanted to memorize the Quran since early childhood, and at the age of 75, her dream finally came true.

The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.

Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorized the Quran since the first day it was revealed.

The Quran has 30 Juzes (parts), 114 Surahs (chapters) and 6,236 verses.
