Iranian memorizer Ali Gholamazad, who has traveled to Baghdad to take part in the contest’s category of memorization of the entire Quran, told IQNA that Sheikh Ahmed Ahmed Nuaina and Sheikh Ahmed Isa al-Misrawi from Egypt along with Iranian Quran masters Qassem Raziei and Mutaz Aghaei serve in the judging panel.
He said the presence of these eminent figures and other experts from different countries in the panel adds value to the competition.
Mehdi Shayegh is Iran’s other representative, competing in the category of Quran recitation.
The first edition of Iraq International Quran Award began on Saturday in Baghdad, with participation of contestants, arbiters, and Iraqi officials. It will run until November 14.
According to organizers, 31 Quran memorizers and qaris from Arab and Islamic countries are participating in this edition of the competition.
