Iran: Quranic Initiative Aimed to Accommodate 1M Participants Nationwide

IQNA – A Quranic initiative, supported by the Imam Reza (AS) shrine, is set to accommodate some 1 million Iranians across the country, an official said.

 

The Director of the Quranic Affairs Center at Astan Quds Razavi has reported widespread enthusiasm for the "I Love the Quran" initiative nationwide.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Masoud Miriyan elaborated on the initiative, dubbed "I Love the Quran", during a meeting on Thursday.

"The 'I Love the Quran' initiative is being conducted virtually and as a self-study program in the educational fields of Quranic reading, fluent reading, Tajweed (rules of Quranic recitation), interpretation and reflection, and memorization, in collaboration with sacred sites and shrines across the country," he said.

He continued, "Participants receive guidance from supporting instructors via phone, and upon passing oral and written exams, they are awarded a certificate of completion."

Miriyan noted that the Quranic Affairs Center at Astan Quds Razavi has spent over 24 billion rials to promote this initiative.

He added, "This initiative is being executed with strong operational and technical capabilities, making it one of the most successful Quranic educational programs in the country."

He also mentioned plans to expand the program to include children and teenagers.

Highlighting the positive reception of the initiative, Miriyan said, "In collaboration with the National Employment Organization, this initiative is set to be introduced as an in-service training program for government employees. Additionally, recent meetings with the Advisor to the Minister of Education and the Secretary of the National Quran Education Commission have led to the implementation of this initiative in 32 regions across the country."

Emphasizing the involvement of a thousand prominent Quranic instructors, Miriyan stated, "The infrastructure for this initiative is designed to accommodate one million participants, and we have no technical or operational issues in the virtual space."

He also mentioned a Quran memorization program for the families of seminary students in cooperation with the Qom Seminary, noting that 2,000 individuals have successfully memorized parts of the Quran so far.
