Speaking in a press conference on Monday in Tehran, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei highlighted that “The primary beneficiary of the ongoing developments in Syria is the Zionist regime.”
The remarks come as Takfiri terrorist groups led by Tahrir al-Sham have launched a fresh onslaught in the northwest Syrian regions of Aleppo and Idlib. The Syrian Army is confronting the threat with the help of its allies.
“All regional countries, especially Islamic nations concerned with peace and security in the region, must recognize that the main winner in this situation is the common adversary of regional security and stability: the Zionist regime,” the Iranian diplomat added.
“We believe that at the diplomatic level, it is the responsibility of our country and all nations in the region to recognize the dangers posed by the spread of terrorism and to mobilize the international community and regional countries to take effective action against it,” he added.

The spokesman also noted that what is happening in Syria is “not a threat to the United States,” as Daesh and terrorism in Syria have not posed a threat to America in the past years.
Referring to the Iranian Foreign Minister’s visit to Ankara, Baghaei said that “our Turkish friends share our concerns about the developments in Syria.”
“We are all aware of the reality that terrorism does not remain confined to one location; by its very nature, it tends to spread. This shared concern will drive regional countries, particularly Syria’s neighbors, to work together to halt this trend,” he highlighted.
