Narges Khatoon Jafari, a participant in the 20 Juz memorization category of the 47th National Quran Competition in Iran, reflects on her lifelong connection with the Quran.
Speaking to IQNA, she shared her personal journey as a Quran memorizer and advocated for youth engagement in Quranic activities.

Jafari, who has been a memorizer of the entire Quran for over 12 years, explained how her passion for Quranic activities started early in life. “As a child, I was drawn to Quranic practices and began with Tajweed recitation. Over time, I also ventured into Tarteel recitation.”
“After marriage, with the encouragement and support of my husband, I dedicated myself to memorizing the entire Quran,” she said.
Her participation in Quran competitions has become a regular feature of her life, with multiple accolades to her name. “This is my second time competing in the National Quran Competition. Last time, I achieved fourth place at the national level. Whatever the outcome this year, I trust in God’s will,” Jafari said.
Discussing how to inspire young people to connect with the Quran, Jafari highlighted the importance of qualified mentors. “We need outstanding trainers who have specialized in teaching children. Their expertise can guide children and teenagers toward engaging with Quranic activities,” she noted.
She also emphasized the role of encouragement and participation in competitions in fostering a Quranic culture. “Motivation plays a crucial role in drawing youth to this path. Additionally, participating in Quranic competitions helps spread this culture and supports the growth of participants,” Jafari explained.

Reflecting on how the Quran has influenced her personal life, Jafari described its profound impact. “The Quran has deeply shaped my life. After even a small amount of engagement with its teachings, I felt its remarkable effects permeate every aspect of my life. It increased my patience and resilience in facing challenges,” she said.
Jafari’s family shares her Quranic devotion. Her husband is also a full Quran memorizer, and her daughter has memorized the 30th Juz.
