Free Storage Service Introduced for Umrah Pilgrims in Mecca

IQNA – Authorities in Mecca have announced the introduction of luggage storage services for Umrah pilgrims, aiming to enhance convenience for visitors to the Grand Mosque.

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque revealed that designated storage facilities are now operational at two key locations: to the east of the Grand Mosque near the Mecca Library, and to the west near Gate 64.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), pilgrims are required to present their official permits via the Nusuk mobile application to access the storage service.

The facilities are designed to accommodate luggage weighing up to 7 kilograms, excluding loose items.

Storage is limited to a maximum duration of four hours, and data-x-items such as valuables, prohibited goods, food, and medication are not allowed. Pilgrims must also retain and present a claim ticket to retrieve their belongings.

The authority has indicated plans to gradually expand this service across all surrounding areas of the Grand Mosque, as reported by SPA.
