It was attended by Sayed Laith al-Mousawi, a member of the Administrative Council of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine, along with several experts and heads of departments, units, and affiliated centers of the Astan.
Quran reciters from 53 countries will participate in the second edition of the contest, which will be organized by the Astan’s Holy Quran Scientific Assembly in the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking at the Monday meeting, al-Mousawi emphasized the importance of the award and the commitment of the Astan to promoting the Holy Quran.
He stated that the Astan aims to convey the noble message of the Holy Quran to various age groups in Iraq and beyond through this competition.
He added that this contest also highlights the importance of fostering the Quranic culture among the youth and the necessity of investing in social media to spread this awareness.

Al-Mousawi emphasized the necessity for all sections of the holy shrine to work towards organizing the second edition of the award in accordance with the highest standards, facilitating the entry of participating delegations, and ensuring a swift visa issuance process to guarantee the timely presence of international participants in the competitions.
According to Ala al-Mousawi, assistant to the head of the Holy Quran Scientific Assembly, the meeting was part of a series of sessions aimed at preparing for the successful organization of the second edition of the contest and ensuring coordination among the various institutions of the Astan.
He said that in this meeting, many important operational aspects were discussed, including how to host and welcome guests and participants, as well as organizing their transportation from their residences to the main studio office.

Key points were also raised to ensure coordination among the relevant departments and to guarantee that the competition is held at a level worthy of the participants and the Al-Ameed Award organizers, with various proposals being discussed.
The inaugural edition of the Al-Ameed International Quran Recitation Award attracted participants from 21 countries.
