Iranian Memorizer Leaves for Algeria to Attend Int’l Quran Contest

IQNA – Iranian memorizer of the entire Quran Ali Gholamazad left Tehran for Algiers on Tuesday to take part in Algeria’s international Quran competition.

 

Gholamazad, who is from the northern province of Zanjan, was named the country’s representatives after coming 3rd in Iran’s 47th National Quran Competition.

He advanced to the final round of the Algerian contest after showing a good performance in the preliminary round.

The preliminary stage of the competition’s 20th edition was organized virtually in December 2024 with the participation of representatives from 40 countries.

The contenders went to the Algerian embassies in their respective countries to answers the questions of the panel of judges via video conference.

The final stage is held in person from January 21 to 26 with the participation of the top 20 contestants who have qualified for this stage.
