Quranic Events Underway in Iraq on Imam Kadhim Martyrdom Anniversary

IQNA – The Quran Scientific Assembly has launched Quranic programs in the city of Kadhimiya and in Wasit Governorate of Iraq on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Kadhim (AS).

The assembly is affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Karbala.

Aqil al-Abidi, a Quranic official, said programs in commemoration of the anniversary of the martyrdom of the seventh Shia Imam (AS) are held for the fifth consecutive year in the Wasit province of Iraq.

The aim is to promote Quranic culture and enhance the religious awareness of people, he said.

These programs include the establishment of seven Quranic stations along the route for pilgrims traveling to Kadhimiya, where the holy shrine of Imam Kadhim (AS) is located, he said.

“At these stations, 15 teachers and experts will provide Quranic services, including the correction of the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha, short Surahs, and the supplications of Salah.”

The assembly has also launched a new Quranic program in the city of Kadhimiya, which includes various activities such as Quranic competitions, artistic activities like painting, congregational prayers, and religious and educational lectures.

This Quranic program is being held for the fourth consecutive year in collaboration with the representative of Ayatollah Sistani in the city.

It is aimed at strengthening Quranic values and nurturing them in children to solidify their future character.
