Iran Ready to Expand Quranic Cooperation with India, Officials Say

IQNA – During a meeting with a high-ranking delegation from Indian Quranic institutions, Iranian officials emphasized their readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation in Quranic activities and promote joint initiatives. 

 

“In the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Quran holds a unique and elevated position. Introducing and promoting its divine teachings and human values internationally is a profound mission for the flourishing of human nature and the realization of global prosperity,” Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseini Neishaburi, head of the International Quran and Propagation Center at Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), said in the meeting on Thursday.

He outlined the objectives of the Quranic diplomacy plan, "Risalat Allah", which focuses on identifying, explaining, and promoting Iran’s Quranic capacities, fostering international connections, and strengthening unity among Muslims. “Holding fast to the rope of Allah and avoiding division brings abundant blessings,” he added, citing Quranic teachings

Hojat-ol-Islam Mostafavi, deputy head of the Leader’s International Communications Office, highlighted the global need for Quranic teachings. “Today, the world needs Quranic knowledge more than ever. Injustice and oppression stem from distancing ourselves from divine teachings,” he said.

He noted that Quran-based ethics is needed in addressing societal challenges, including the breakdown of family structures. 

Maulana Qari Muhammad Waseem Usmani, representing the Indian delegation, emphasized the Quran’s revered status in both countries and called for vigilance against disrespectful or divisive actions targeting the Quran.

“If we act upon the Quran’s teachings, conflicts will end, and we will become a unified nation. Victory will be ours when we achieve this unity,” he stated.

Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi, head of the Leader’s International Communications Office, underscored Iran’s commitment to Quranic collaboration with India. “India holds a significant place in Iran’s Quranic relations. We are prepared to expand cooperation and sign agreements for joint Quranic programs,” he said. 

Both sides evaluated the progress in Quranic relations, including the exchange of high-level delegations and the establishment of joint Quranic commissions, and discussed ways to strengthen coordination for future initiatives.
