IQNA – The 4th International Quran Competition in Indonesia concluded with an award ceremony recognizing top reciters and memorizers from around the world.

The 4th International Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ), was held in Jakarta from January 29 to February 1, 2025, featuring 60 participants from 38 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and America.

In the Quran recitation category, Imranul Karim from Indonesia claimed first place in the men's division, followed by Sayed Rohullah Hashimi from Afghanistan in second place and Ahmad Safi Abo Omaralhalabi from Syria in third, Antara News reported on Sunday.

In the women's division, Indonesia’s Diana Abdul Jabbar took the top spot, with Sabaha Pato Salik from the Philippines securing second place and A’tiqah Binte Suhaimi from Singapore finishing third.

In the Quran memorization category, Yasin Albar from Indonesia won first place in the men's division, with Emad Mustafa Hasan Aldubbati from Libya taking second and Aiemiddin Fakhrudinov from Russia securing third.

In the women’s division, Nafisatul Millah from Indonesia emerged as the champion, followed by Muna Abdifatar Abdifarah from Kenya in second place and Aysfa Eza from India in third.

More than 187 countries took part in the pre-qualification stage at the end of 2023, according to organizers.

The competition's theme, "Al-Quran, Environment, and Humanity for Global Harmony," highlighted the Quran's teachings on environmental stewardship and human values, emphasizing the importance of global harmony.

The last edition of the MTQ was held in 2015.
