IQNA – A Lebanese scholar said the Islamic Revolution of Iran introduced the ideal model of a Muslim woman to the world.

Lebanese scholar Fadawi Abdul Sattir

Speaking at an international webinar titled "Islamic Revolution and the Rebirth of Family Identity", Fadawi Abdul Sattir said the Islamic Revolution provided a historic opportunity for Iranian women to make progress and enhance their status in society.

The online seminar was organized by the International Quran News Agency (IQNA) on Sunday, February 9, 2025, on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

Abdul Sattir said since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iranian women have been at the forefront of all social, political, and scientific fields, among others.

“They have never relinquished their esteemed position in these areas, which the Islamic Revolution established, and have worked alongside men to build the future of their country.”

She added that despite all the challenges, “Today we see that Iran continues to stand firm against all attempts to erase its Islamic identity, especially against Iranian women.”

The Lebanese scholar referred to the attempts by the West and the world Zionism to tarnish the image of women’s situation in Iran, she said their claims are proven false with statistics about how Iranian women have made progress in different fields, including education, employment, sports, politics, etc.

These statistics are truly thought-provoking and should be highlighted, she stated. “They demonstrate that an ideal example of a Muslim woman in Iran, and even a woman in the broader, non-Muslim sense, emerged after the Islamic Revolution. This development does not align with the West’s ambitious views, which often involve ignoring women and confining them to immorality and corruption.

“In other words, by using slogans like freedom, life, and liberation, they bind women to immorality and corruption, making them easy prey for those with ill intentions.”
