2nd Thaqalayn TV Quran Contest on Tarteel Recitation Planned for Ramadan
The competition will be held via Skype in the holy month of Ramadan, which will begin later this month.
Dubbed “Wa Rattil” (…and recite the Quran in a distinct tone- Verse 4 of Surah Al-Muzzammil), the TV Quran contest is broadcast every day during the holy month.
Only men can take part in the international Quran contest.
Those willing to participate in the Quranic event should be between 18 and 40 years old.
The contenders are required to submit a recorded audio file of their recitation in Tarteel of one of the following pages of the Quran (60, 88, 125, 206 or 549) to the following Whatsapp Number: 009899999914320.
Quran “in proper order” and “with no haste”. It is the measured recitation of the Quran in rhythmic tones according to the rules that explain how to recite the Quran.
Al-Thaqalayn is a satellite TV station broadcasting various programs with religious and cultural themes.
The Arabic-language TV, which was launched in Ramadan of 2008, aims to promote the Islamic culture and the teachings of the Holy Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
It also seeks to strengthen the institution of the Islamic family through special programs for women, children and young adults.

Ramadan, which is expected to began on March 1 this year, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.
It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.
The Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart in this month.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
