IQNA – Iran’s representative came 5th in Jordan’s 20th International Quran Competition for Women.

Iranian memorizer Sogand Rafi’zadeh came 5th in Jordan’s 20th International Quran Competition for Women

 

The international contest concluded in a ceremony in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on Wednesday morning.

Top winners were named and awarded at the ceremony, which was attended by a number of senior officials of the host country.  

According to the panel of judges, the contestant from Morocco bagged the top prize and Nigeria’s representative finished runner-up.

Those from Tunisia and Libya came third and fourth, respectively, and Iran’s memorizer Sogand Rafi’zadeh won the fifth rank.

Rafi’zadeh had taken the stage on Monday, the third day of the contest, to answer the questions of the panel of judges and recite parts of the Quran from memory.

She told IQNA afterwards that she answered the judges’ questions without any hesitation or mistake.

She also said that she was satisfied with her performance.

There were 45 memorizers from different countries taking part in this edition of the international Quranic event, which had kicked off in Amman on Saturday.
