The existing structure, described in planning documents as "poorly maintained" and "no longer fit for purpose," would be demolished to make way for a modern facility.
The new mosque would provide expanded space, including dedicated areas for women, along with a nursery operated by an external company.
Additional features outlined in the plans include parking, secure bicycle storage, outdoor space, and a covered walkway at the entrance.
Currently housed in a converted warehouse that opened in 2022, the mosque has reportedly struggled to meet the needs of its growing congregation due to structural limitations from the original conversion.
