IQNA – A translation of the Holy Quran into the Dhatki language has been completed in Pakistan.

Holy Quran

Haji Mohammad Siddique Rahimoon, a resident of Radhakhar village near Dahili area of the desert district of Tharparkar in Pakistan’s Sindh Province, has done the rendering.

The Dhatki is spoken in parts of the Thar desert including Tharparkar, Umerkot in Sanghar district and in some bordering areas of India.

Javed Jaffar Rahimoon, the close relative of the writer, said it took him only 2 and half years to achieve this noble task.

Javed added that Mohammad Siddique took keen interest after his retirement from the Health Department of Sindh government. He informed that the writer after completing his daunting task had sent some of the hand-written copies to the heads of seminaries, who, according to him, had highly lauded his efforts.

According to the local activists and writers, this significant achievement enhances accessibility for native Dhatki speakers, allowing them to understand the Quran in their mother tongue.

The area people commenting on the unique work of Rahimoon termed it a scholarly and spiritual contribution, reflecting his dedication to serving his community living on both sides of the shared borders.
