The event, organized at the main Khoja mosque and imambargha, was held at the invitation of the Tabligh Committee of the Khoja Ithna-Asheri Jamaat of Dar es Salaam.
It drew a large audience of community members and Quran students from affiliated schools, according to Iran’s cultural attaché office in Tanzania.
The Quranic show Mahfel—broadcast in Iran during Ramadan—has gained significant popularity for featuring world-class reciters, engaging Quranic performances, and fostering a deep spiritual connection with viewers.

Among the participants was Hamed Shakernejad, a celebrated Iranian Quran reciter known for his emotionally resonant style and contributions to international Quranic events.
Also performing were prominent Iranian Quran experts Ahmad Abolghasemi, Masoumi, teenage reciter Mohammad Hossein Azimi, and young female memorizer Mehnaz Qanbari.
Kazim Dala, head of the Tabligh Committee, expressed his gratitude to the Mahfel team for accepting their invitation and praised the quality of the event.

Iran’s Cultural Counselor in Tanzania, Mr. Maarefi, described the gathering as a valuable opportunity for international Quranic figures and organizations to connect with the Khoja Shia community.
The program was a collaborative initiative involving the International Quran Foundation, the Mahfel TV production team, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization’s International Quran and Propagation Center, and the local branch of Al-Mustafa International University in Tanzania.
