Prominent Iranian Qaris to Lead Quranic Program at Indonesia's Istiqlal Mosque

IQNA – Renowned Iranian Quran qaris, Hamed Shakernejad and Ahmad Abolqassemi, are set to participate in one of the largest Quranic programs at Indonesia’s iconic Istiqlal Mosque.

Scheduled for March 16, this event brings together prominent figures from the southeast Asian country and fosters interfaith cultural engagement.

The program is organized collaboratively by Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the Cultural Attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Indonesia, and the Mahfel TV Show.

Known for showcasing Quranic recitations and promoting Islamic teachings, Mahfel is a well-regarded Iranian television series appreciated by audiences worldwide.

Distinguished guests, including Indonesia's Minister of Religious Affairs and Professor Nasaruddin Umar, the Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, are expected to attend.

Notably, efforts are reportedly underway to coordinate the attendance of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

The Quranic gathering will be broadcast live on television and YouTube.

Additionally, Iran’s Cultural Attaché has arranged supplementary Quranic programs at several other centers in Indonsia including Al-Azhar Mosque and Pesantren Al-Qur’aniyah.
