Seyed Mohammad Mehdi Mostafavi, the vice deputy of communications and international affairs at the office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, made the remark at the first meeting of the policy-making council of the competition’s 7th edition.
He said holding such meetings indicates the importance that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches to promoting the Quranic culture.
Emphasizing the special place of the Quran in the structure of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mostafavi said, “We are not aware of any country where all the members of the ruling system are so proud of being acquainted with and acting upon the teachings of the Quran.
“This makes us both proud and responsible, because the eyes of many nations are on us.”
He pointed to the regional and global impact of Iran’s Quranic activities and said, “We should be able to respond to those who are waiting for the implementation of such activities by the Islamic Republic by carrying out magnificent and valuable activities in the field of the Quran.”
Mostafavi further stressed the full readiness of the Commission for the Development of Quranic Activities of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the international stage to participate in organizing the 7th edition of the International Quran Competition for Muslim Students.
He said cooperation in this endeavor will continue vigorously, and expressed hope that this Quranic event will be a step toward realizing the new Islamic civilization.
He went on to say that the competition has noble goals which, God willing, will lead to the promotion of Quranic teachings.

Mostafavi expressed hope that “through this competition, we can bring spiritual illumination into the heart of universities”.
The Iranian Academics’ Quranic Organization, affiliated to the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR), has organized the competition since 2006 with the aim of promoting unity and cooperation among Muslim world students and elevating the level of Quranic activities.
This year’s event comes following six successful editions of the competition, which hosted participants from over 85 countries and had a significant impact on Quranic and cultural engagement across the Islamic world.
The 6th edition took place in the holy city of Mashhad, northeast of Iran, in April 2018.
