IQNA – The head of the Iraqi National Hikma (wisdom) Movement called on Muslim and Arab countries to adopt a unified stance against the Zionist regime.

Delivering Eid al-Adha prayer sermons on Saturday, Sayid Ammar al-Hakim condemned the Israeli regime’s brutal crimes against the people of Gaza and Lebanon and said Muslim and Arab countries should have a unified stance against the occupation regime.

He stressed the need for efforts to end the Israeli regime’s arbitrary policies in the region.

Al-Hakim also called for the establishment of strategic partnerships among the regional countries in order to maintain stability in the region.

He noted that this would contribute to the prosperity of Iraq and the stability of the region, stating that cooperation and peace are the key to stability in Arab and Islamic values.

Al-Hakim pointed to the end of the current term of the Iraqi parliament that will come soon and the beginning of the steps to enter the parliamentary elections in the country, calling it another reason to improve the political system and its stability in the democratic experience.

This election in Iraq is a decisive one in the history of Iraq and a fundamental step for the sustainability and consolidation of stability in the country, he went on to say.

Iraqi Shia Muslims marked Saturday as Eid al-Adha after the country’s top Shia cleric Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani announced May 29 as the beginning of the lunar Hijri month of Dhul Hijja.
