The ministry announced that the screening of overseas participants began via video-conference. The digital format uses advanced tools to ensure precise and transparent evaluation of candidates’ memorisation, recitation and tajweed skills.

The 32nd edition of the competition will be held in Egypt in December 2025 with contestants from around the world. According to organisers, this preliminary phase is designed to select the best participants outside Egypt in preparation for the final rounds in Cairo, where leading scholars and Quranic judges will assess contestants.

Last year’s 31st edition welcomed participants from 60 nations and featured a record prize pool. The competition is regularly conducted in Cairo and has become a major international platform for Quran memorisation and recitation.

In parallel, the ministry emphasised that the competition supports the values of mercy, tolerance and peace as taught in the Quran, while showcasing the bright face of Islamic civilisation rooted in knowledge, perfection and mutual respect among peoples.
