The two resistance figures and a number of their family members and relatives were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City, the Gaza Strip.
According to a report by the Palestinian Information Center, Hamas in a statement described the Israeli regime’s airstrike as part of the occupying regime’s ongoing brutal massacres against Palestinian civilians.
The statement highlighted Asa’ad Abu Sharia’s long-standing role in the resistance, noting he had spent over 25 years fighting the occupiers and survived multiple assassination attempts.
He never abandoned the path of jihad and steadfastness, the statement went on to say.
Hamas also noted that before the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, Abu Sharia had already lost five brothers on the path of resistance.
Since the current genocidal war was launched by the Israeli regime, more than 150 members of his extended family—including his wife, children, brothers and relatives—have been martyred on the path of Palestine, it went on to say.
