Sharjah’s Department of Islamic Affairs has introduced smart screens across major mosques in the emirate, aiming to enhance communication with worshippers and support the government’s broader digital transformation strategy, Sharjah24 reported on Monday.
According to the department, 150 smart screens have been installed so far in various locations. These screens display Quranic verses, prophetic sayings, and general moral messages, in addition to announcements on religious lectures, prayer times, and mosque-related services.
The department noted that content is updated regularly to reflect both religious and national events.

Officials said this step is part of an ongoing strategy to digitize religious outreach, reduce reliance on paper-based communication, and adopt tools that are more aligned with current technological standards. The system allows for real-time updates, enabling the department to communicate efficiently across multiple mosques.
A spokesperson said the screens aim to deliver religious and community messages “in a modern way” that corresponds with the emirate’s vision of smart governance. The initiative is also expected to contribute to environmental sustainability by minimizing printed materials.
