A group representing various religious communities in Oxford gathered for a symbolic walk on Thursday evening, organised by the Oxford Council of Faiths, to promote interfaith unity and understanding.
Participants began their journey at the Oxford Synagogue on Richmond Road at 6 p.m., continuing to St Giles Church, before pausing at Radcliffe Square for moments of reflection. The event concluded at the Bath Street Mosque in St Clements.
The walk brought together members of the city’s Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities, alongside others who joined in solidarity.
Moznu Miah, chairman of the Oxford Mosque Society at Bath Street Mosque, addressed participants during the closing moments of the walk. “In these challenging times, marked by division, hate, and injustice, our collective presence here today is a powerful testament to our shared commitment to love, peace, respect and harmony,” he said.
