According to the Astan (custodianship) of the holy mausoleum, the ceremony was attended by scholars and students of the Najaf Islamic Seminary, academic figures, the chairman and members of the Najaf Provincial Council, directors of service and security departments, prominent figures, the servants of the shrine, and a group of pilgrims.
It began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Sayid Hani Al-Moussawi, the reciter and muezzin of the Alawi holy shrine, and then Mustafa al-Husseini, an Iraqi elegist, recited the Ziyarat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Commander of the Faithful (AS).
After that, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mohammad Sadiq Khorsan, a Najaf Islamic Seminary scholar, in a speech examined the position of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the role of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (AS) in Islam, and highlighted an aspect of the wills of the Prophet (PBUH) in which he calls on the Muslim Ummah to adhere to good morals and noble virtues in all times and places.

The ceremony included raising the flag of grief and mourning. It continued with the recitation of an elegy.
The 28th day of the lunar Hijri month of Safar, which falls on Friday, August 22, marks the demise anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan (AS).
