The VR exhibit was part of the pavilion organized by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. Using headsets, participants could explore different sections of the mosque, including Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa, a revered space located between the Prophet Muhammad’s tomb and his pulpit.

According to the ministry, the project was designed to combine modern technology with religious education. Alongside the mosque tour, the pavilion introduced several digital tools, such as a multilingual application for Hajj and Umrah and the “Rushd” app, which offers a digital copy of the Quran, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.

Visitors at the fair expressed strong interest in the VR experience. The ministry noted that the initiative aimed to make major Islamic landmarks more accessible to global audiences through digital innovation.
