Sheikh Naim Ternava, who also heads the Islamic Council (Muslim Affairs Department) of Kosovo, in an address emphasized that reading and education are the basis of intellectual and educational progress, and called for the preservation of oneself, homeland, and family.
He also said education was a fundamental pillar of the mission of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), noting that the first word of revelation to the Prophet (PBUH) was Iqra (read).
The Mufti of Kosovo visited various parts of the center and met with students taking their religious lessons there, predicting that the center will help raise an educated and informed generation.
The Islamic leadership in Kosovo has prioritized Islamic education in mosque’s Maktabs (traditional schools), where female teachers play a pivotal role in raising children according to the principles of Islam and teaching them the correct recitation of the Quran, which, in addition to Islamic identity, protects children from the dangers of surrounding challenges.
