IQNA – The secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has said Muslim unity is essential not only for defense but also for creating a new Islamic civilization.

Islamic Unity Seen as Key to Building a New Islamic Civilization

Hojat-ol-Islam Abdolhossein Khosrow Panah stressed that unity among Muslims should not be viewed solely as a response to common threats. Instead, he argued, it is a foundation for progress and civilization-building.

“This unity is not just a defensive strategy. We need it in order to achieve a new Islamic civilization,” Khosrow Panah said on Saturday. “It is not simply that we must stand together because of a shared enemy. We need unity for advancement and for building civilization.”

He described solidarity among Muslims as both a religious duty and a rational necessity. “Any individual or movement that causes division is committing a forbidden act. In this ruling, there is no difference between Shia and Sunni,” he said.

According to Khosrow Panah , the vision of a new Islamic civilization cannot be realized by a single country. He noted that while each nation has its strengths, cooperation is required on a broader scale.

“If we are pursuing the goal of a new Islamic civilization, it must happen with the participation of all Muslims,” he said. “Iran cannot do this alone. Egypt cannot do this alone. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, or African nations such as Tanzania cannot achieve it by themselves.”

He noted that Muslim countries must work together in building civilization and advancing in science and technology.
