Alaa Hosna said these recitations have been collected from inside and outside Egypt, el-Balad reported.
Speaking in televised program on Tuesday, he noted that the family honors the memory of this Egyptian reciter every year.
He added that the recent period has been special for him, because he has been able to collect the recorded recitations and the complete audio heritage of his grandfather, in Egypt and abroad.
Also, the family has organized and sorted them from analog recorded recitations (natural sound received from microphones and cassette tapes) to digital, so that it becomes an archive for the Muslim community, he stated.
Some of these recorded recitations were donated to the Egypt Radio and were broadcast on this medium last Ramadan, and “we promised to donate more recorded recitations so that this legacy is available to future generations.”
Sheikh Mustafa Ismail’s grandson recalled that he had met with Ahmed Al-Moslemani, the head of the Egyptian National Media Authority, who asked him to donate the personal belongings and heritage of Mustafa Ismail to be preserved in the recently launched Museum of Egyptian Quran Reciters.
Referring to the family’s memories of Sheikh Mustafa Ismail, he described the experiences that shaped his grandfather’s life, including the first days after memorizing the Quran in their village, and said: Master Mustafa Ismail began reciting at funerals and social gatherings, until he caught the attention of someone in Tanta who advised him to enroll in the Ahmadi Institute.
Sheikh Mustafa Ismail then began reciting the Quran at the Sayyid al-Badawi Mosque and eventually became famous in Tanta, attracting delegations from different provinces and famous reciters.

Referring to the meetings of Mustafa Ismail with other great Egyptian qaris, Alaa said one of them was Sheikh Muhammad al-Saifi, who described Ismail’s voice as the most beautiful voice he had ever heard in his life.
Sheikh Mustafa Ismail’s status made King Farouk (the ruler of Egypt at the time) pay attention to him and host him in his palace for recitation during the month of Ramadan, he stated.
Alaa also mentioned the Sheikh Mustafa Ismail’s wish to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque, which was fulfilled when he was invited by then Egyptian president Anwar Sadat to lead the Eid prayer there.
He noted that the Sheikh declined an invitation from US President Jimmy Carter to recite at Congress because he was traveling to Jerusalem al-Quds.
