IQNA – The Al-Azhar Grand Mosque announced the launch of 70 new branches of Al-Azhar Quran Memorization Institute in cities across Egypt.

The Al-Azhar Grand Mosque announced the launch of 70 new branches of Al-Azhar Quran Memorization Institute in cities across Egypt.

 

The new branches have been opened in line with the development of religious education and Quran memorization, and following the success of the international platform for distance Quran memorization to meet the needs of those interested in direct education in areas that lack such branches, the institute said, Al-Mu’shir website reported.

The aim is to facilitate Quran memorization and access to religious education for the people of these areas, it added.

According to the institute, the launch of the branches is line with the guidance of Al-Azhar chief Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, who pays special attention to the development of Al-Azhar Quran branches in the Arab country.

Abdul Munim Fouad, an Al-Azhar official, said that the opening of new branches is a bridge to connect new cities with Al-Azhar’s moderate approach.

“We are trying to provide outstanding educational services that are free from extremist ideas in the field of memorizing the Quran and Quranic sciences, and to protect our youth and children from extremism,” he added.

According to Hani Awdah, the custodian of Al-Azhar Mosque, the educational process in the new branches will be in accordance with the quality and accuracy standards followed in the Al-Azhar Grand Mosque’s Quran Memorization Institute.

He said that the opening of these branches will open a wider window for thousands of people who aspire to memorize the Quran and understand religious and secular sciences closely.
