According to the Saudi-daily of "Asharq Al-Awsat", participants in the gathering are expected to study "Islam and Democracy", "Islam and Human Rights", "Islam and Terrorism", "Enlightenment of Jihad in Islam", "Islam and Tolerance", "Islam and Woman Rights", and "Islam and Religious Minorities".
Secretary General of the International Council for Islamic Jurisprudence Ayatollah Seyed Abulqasem Dibaji made a speech at the inaugural ceremony of the gathering, saying that prominent scholars, preachers and sources of emulation of all Islamic schools of thought are member to the international council.
He further noted that the International Council for Islamic Jurisprudence makes efforts to disseminate the tenets of the enlightening religion of Islam to non-Muslims worldwide.
The secretary general went on to say, "Certain elements have unfortunately misused Islam to reach their seditious political goals, but we call for differentiating between the real Islam and extremist Islamists."
Dibaji also noted that the council makes all-out efforts to present the real face of the enlightening and divine religion of Islam and acquaint world nations to the Islamic salvation.
