Int'l Coexistence among Religions Conference Kicks off in Tunisia

-- An International Conference on "Coexistence among Religions and Contemporary Global Cultural Challenges" has kicked off in Tunisia on October 7.
According to Saudi Al-Watan daily, Tunisia's Supreme Center for Religious Principles affiliated to Zaitouna University organizes the three-day conference.
A number of researchers from Arab and western countries are taking part in the event with the aim of studying the role of religion in preventing social and political clashes.
Religious freedom and relations among faiths in various historical eras are among other topics of the conference.

Conrad Odinawer Institute affiliated to the German ruling Democrat Christian Party is also said to be cooperating with the Tunisian Supreme Center for Religious Principles to organize the conference.
"Concept of Book in Holy Quran", "Acquaintance with the Spirit of Tolerance in Andalusia", "Cultural Variety and Human Clash", and "Role of Religion in Avoiding Clashes" are among the papers that prominent scholars have submitted to the secretariat of the international conference.
