Yemen's Quran Memorization Competitions for Military Personnel Kicks off

Yemen's nationwide Quran memorization competitions for military personnel kicked off Tuesday evening in Sana, capital of Yemen.

According to SABA news agency, Hassan Mohammad Alhodar , deputy of Owqaf minister of Yemen and secretary of the competition and Ali Saeed Abeed head of the cultural department of Yemen's armed forces as well as many Quran lovers attended the opening ceremony of the competition.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the competition Hassan Mohammad Alhodar said that memorization of the holy Quran is the greatest possible honor for every Muslim in his or her life, adding that the holy Quran is the strong Divine Rope which has been the source of inspiration, knowledge and abundant blessings for many Muslim scholars.
Deputy of Owqaf ministry of Yemen urged the military personnel to get further familiarity and closeness with the high teachings of the holy Quran.

The competition is underway in fields of memorization of five chapters, 10 chapters, 15 chapters and 20 chapters. Top winners of the competition will be dispatched to international Quran competition of "Soltan bin Abdolaziz" in Saudi Arabia.

The competition will conclude on Saturday.
