In his open letter titled "Egypt's Quranic Society: A Historical Test Regarding the Massacre in Gaza", Master Abbas Salimi wrote:
Egypt is known to many for its history and civilization. To some, it is known for its pyramids. Many others associate Egypt with the great prophet of God, Joseph the Truthful.
In our time, and in view of many Muslims, especially the Quranic society of Iran, Egypt is associated with brilliant Quran reciters, such great masters as the late Abdulbasit, Mustafa Ismaeel, Minshawi, Kamil Yusuf, Muhammad Rafat, Abdulfattah Shasha'ei, Abdulazeez Hissan, Shahat Muhammad Anwar, as well as Ahmad Muhammad Amir, Ahmad Ahmad Noaina, Mahmoud Sadiq Minshawi and others.
Quranic figures know well that reciters of the holy book, due to their acquaintance with its lofty concepts, have especial responsibility to act upon the Quranic teachings.
The holy prophet (PBUH) has said "A carrier of the Quran is a flag-bearer of Islam." This signifies the status and responsibility of Quranic figures.
Now that the Zionist Regime, supported by Britain and the US and emboldened by the silence of international organizations, have once again resorted to the failed policy of besieging the oppressed people of Gaza, and now that the so called supporters of human rights have kept silent over the atrocities in Gaza, and as little babies in Gaza are dying of hunger in their mothers' bosom…, another saying by the holy prophet (PBUH) reverberates in the ears of the noble and the righteous people of the world:
"Whoever gets up in the morning and is not concerned with the affairs of other Muslims is not a Muslim".
History will remember the unacceptable and unjustifiable position of the Egyptian government in closing the Rafah Crossing and even preventing trucks loaded with medicine from entering into Gaza.
No doubt, the fake regime of Israel will soon collapse and history will take revenge on those who supported it.
Under such circumstances, the esteemed Quranic figures of Egypt are expected to take a Quranic stance against the atrocities in Gaza and call for re-opening of the Rafah crossing.
