Most Beautiful Mosque in Netherlands to Be Selected
-- A contest is underway in the Netherlands to select the country’s most beautiful mosque, Moheet website reports.
So far 10 mosques located in different cities have been shortlisted.
A special committee made up of architects and art experts is due to visit the ten mosques in order to survey their architecture and aesthetic quality.
The role of imams (prayer leaders) and preachers of the mosques in introducing Islam’s teachings and urging Muslims to participate in different social activities is also considered by the committee to select the best mosque.
The Netherlands is home to some 1 million Muslims comprising 6percent of the total population.
