“Quran in the Mirror of Iranian Art” Exhibition in Dagestan

An exhibition called “Quran in the mirror of Iranian art” has been held by Iran Cultural Center in Russia, in cooperation with Ministry of Religious and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan and State University of Dagestan.
According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the hall of the National Library in Russia has hosted the exhibition from October 15.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Safar Aliev, representative of Russian State Duma and the first deputy of the Committee of Science and Education of the country, Magomed Gasanov, the first deputy of the university, Kaflan Khanbabayev, deputy of the minister and Teymur Aghayev, head of the National Library as well as a number of scientific and cultural figures.
Addressing the ceremony, Aliev stated that the exhibition has been held with the aim of making the Dagestanese more familiar with various aspects of the holy Quran.
Gasanov appreciated the Iranian center’s efforts in holding the exhibition and its scientific-cultural cooperation with the Russian university, saying that: “the exhibition is one of the 5 exhibitions held by the Iranian center and Iran Studies Center of Dagestan to introduce Iranian culture and art in this country.”
He added that it is necessary to hold such exhibitions disseminating human values and spiritual moral concepts of the Quran and making the society familiar with the true Islam.
Also speaking at the program, Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, Iran cultural attaché in Russia said that the language of art is influential to make the people familiar with Quranic concepts.
Head of the library asked for an agreement of cooperation to be signed between the library and the Iranian center.
