Ayatollah Marashi Najafi Library in Qom A Research Hub of Islamic World
Akbar Behnamjoo said the library has transformed Qom into one of the most important scientific and research hubs of the Islamic world by preserving the most extensive Shia written heritage and providing easy access for researchers.
He made the remarks during a visit to the library, adding that it has established the original model of the scientific endowment culture.
Behnamjoo described the collection of books in the library as a lasting legacy of the late Shia Marja (source of emulation) and said, “I was fortunate enough to visit a very valuable and noble (place) that is influential in various dimensions. As a research center for scholars and researchers of the province, the country and the world, this library has transformed Qom into one of the important research hubs.”
He added that in addition to being a source of reference for the seminaries, this complex has also institutionalized the culture of scientific endowment by preserving the written heritage of the Shia and the Islamic world and providing easy access.
During this visit, the governor toured various sections of the library, including the World Treasury of Islamic Manuscripts, the Quarantine of Manuscripts, the Treasury of Ancient and Exquisite Printed Books, the Restoration Unit of Manuscripts and Written Documents, the Micrography Center, the Manuscript Pathology Laboratory, and the Pavilion of Personal data-x-Items Remaining from the Late Ayatollah Marashi Najafi (RA).

At the end of this visit, Behnamjoo appreciated the efforts of the library's managers and specialists, and emphasized the importance of preserving, developing, and introducing this great scientific capital as much as possible.
The Ayatollah Marashi Najafi Library, founded by the late grand Ayatollah Marashi Najafi, is located in the holy city of Qom. It was opened in 1963.
