Najaf Friday Prayers Leader Praises Dismissal of Diplomat Who Insulted Shias
The Friday prayers leader of Najaf lauded Iraqi foreign ministry’s move to fire a diplomat who had insulted Shia Muslims.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Sadreddin Qabanchi in his Friday prayers sermons on August 23 said it was a justified move to fire Muad Al-Ubaidi, Iraq’s deputy ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Elsewhere in his sermon, Hojat-ol-Islam Qabanchi pointed to the Fitna (sedition) in Syria, saying that the idea of setting fire to the region can only benefit the world domineering powers for a year or two but it will certainly lead to the overthrow of these powers in the end.
He underlined that the world community must reconsider its position about Syria, adding that the bloodshed in the country must stop.
He added that it is nations that will be victorious and that all signs indicate that the world is moving in a direction that will be in the interest of nations.
Elsewhere in his sermon, Hojat-ol-Islam Qabanchi referred to threats against Shia Muslims in Iraq’s northern provinces and urged the government to support Shias in the region against terrorists.
