Quran and Hijab Forum Held in Kabul
According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the program was attended by a number of religious and cultural figures of the region.
It was addressed by Hojat-ol-Islam Hassanzadeh, head of the council, who highlighted the importance and the role of Hijab in the society.
He said that there are more than 10 verses in the Holy Quran which stress the importance of Hijab, its philosophy and how to observe Hijab.
The scholar added that Hijab is not merely a covering dress but more importantly, it is modesty in behavior, speech and thought.
Also speaking in the forum, was Ms Alizadeh, a member of the council, who stressed that Hijab is a requirement for both men and women in Islam.
She noted that if Hijab is fully observed, safety will increase in society, which is one of the purposes of Hijab.
